POSITION SUMMARY:

The Call Center Representative is responsible for the day to day processing of customer orders. It includes taking and making calls from/to customers; processing orders in the JD Edwards system; scheduling carriers for pick up, working with Transtar branches and local drivers to ensure customer orders are filled.

It also includes phone support for branch employees and the traveling sales team. Various Daily customer reports are generated and the service rep must be able to read, evaluate and take action based on the reporting.

This position is our front line, direct interface to the customer. The call center representative must be polite, courteous, organized and professional at all times in efforts to make the customers dealings with us pleasant and satisfying, while also keeping the Companies interest in mind. Organization, multi-tasking, administration, and telephone etiquette is required for this position.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer phone/ making proactive calls
  • Enter sales orders
  • Entering credit card transactions
  • Processing credits
  • Keeping a sales order log
  • Confirming order shipments
  • Solve problems
  • Work with excel and word documents
  • Navigate the JD Edwards software
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience with J.D. Edwards / Oracle a plus.
  • CRM and Business Intelligence Software Experience a plus.
  • Experience using J.D. Edwards & EDI Preferred
  • Must have the ability to work with patience and courtesy in customer relations
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to think quickly and logically to ensure expedient response to customer inquiries
  • Must have strong organization skills
  • Enter information into multiple screens while listening to information from customers
  • Must be familiar with a Computer, email and use Excel and Word documents
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
