Specialist, Learning & Development

Pratt and Whitney has a unique opportunity for a Specialist, Learning & Development within the Pratt and Whitney Talent team in East Hartford, CT. This position is responsible for facilitating enterprise wide learning & development opportunities that support Pratt and Whitneyâ€s vision of leadership. This role focuses on U.S. learning & development, and reports to the Manager, Learning & Development.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

The primary accountability of this role is to facilitate Pratt and Whitneyâ€s leadership programs along with supporting courses to retain and develop the best leaders in the industry. Acting as a consultant on best in class learning opportunities offered internally and through external vendors.  Offers learning solutions that support performance gaps to give employees the resources that will allow them to reach their full potential.  

Key programs and areas of responsibility will include but not be limited to:
  • Acts as a consultant to Talent Partners and Business Leaders providing needs analysis, course recommendations, delivery, and execution
  • Facilitates development programs and courses to support needs analysis
  • Facilitation may include but is not limited to delivery via on-site or virtual classroom/webinar methods
  • Coordinates with leaders to schedule and execute professional development courses 
  • Collaborates with the Learning Management System specialist to capture course offerings and statistics
  • Maintains knowledge of new adult learning approaches, technology and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation
  • Communicates and champions culture change and employee engagement
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 
  • Bachelorâ€s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
  • Required 3 years of experience in a corporate training & development environment using adult learning theory and accelerated learning in a business environment
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in facilitation and program management
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of employees
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
  • Certified to teach development courses or assessments (DISC, Hogan, or any others is a plus)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel
