Job Description
Apex Systems is looking for a Sr. Production Manager for our Pharmaceutical client in Northern Colorado. This is a direct hire opportunity and a great chance to join an aseptic production team in a leadership role. Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates a high degree of honesty, initiative, integrity, drive, reliability and trustworthiness.

  • Actively supervises and manages the performance of the Aseptic Development group.
  • Manages the performance of hourly employees when situations require additional management support.
  • Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions on employees, and provides oversight on hourly employment decisions.
  • Reviews validation and qualification documents that impact injectable areas.
  • Drafts controlled documents for manufacturing areas when technology is transferred to manufacturing.
  • Provides SME guidance to the development team for future aseptic processes.
  • Provides drafting oversight with development batch records for future aseptic processes.
  • Participates in development team meetings as a representative of manufacturing.
  • Ensures open and transparent communication to employees about company priorities, policies and general company announcements.
  • Provides guidance to supervisory employees for the delivery of information.
  • Assigns and manages process improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations
  • Reviews and approves direct report timesheets.
  • Communicates and sets daily production priorities with employees.
  • Monitoring the training progress and readiness to work independently of all direct reports.
  • Ensures production team adheres to all quality standards and specifications.
  • Create, revise and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Production Batch Records.
  • Assists with Batch Record review, as necessary, including prioritization, reviewing corrections, and following up to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform Transactions in the Inventory Control Systems (FourthShift) on a timely basis.
  • Coordinates the completion of investigations and CAPA implementations for non-conforming events.
  • Pre-approves expiration dates on batch records prior to manufacturing.
  • Reviews and approves Inventory and Purchase Requisitions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Identifies missing items for pending manufacturing processes.
  • Attends manufacturing department meetings.
  • Assists Production Schedulers with prioritization and scheduling activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  Special Skills and Knowledge
  • Mastered knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) as they relate to production packaging activities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours or more).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to written production records and validation protocols.
  • Strong understanding of basic math and writing skills to document production activities in batch records and/or log books.
  • Excellent attention to detail for documentation in production documents and to compare produced goods against specified requirements.
  • Capability to operate on a fast-paced manual assembly line using basic production equipment.
  • Ability to legibly complete required documentation.
  • Technical ability to assemble and disassemble filling equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Supports management’s decisions and communicates change positively
  • Maintains open and constructive dialogue with other leaders
  • Take ownership for their responsibilities and their team’s performance
  • Creates a cadence of accountability for their team
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions within time and schedule constraints

Communication
  • Interact with peers and members of other departments in team settings in a professional manner.
  • Provide consistent coaching, guidance, development and mentorship to supervisors.
  Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 7 or more years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment with a minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Specific training in cGMP is desired
  Additional Requirements
  • Acceptable results on both a quantitative and verbal assessment test.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record may be required.
  • Shift work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • May require overtime.
  • Ability to lead by example and have a proven record of excellence in attendance, dependability and safety
  • Successful completion of gowning qualification for sterile manufacturing.
Education
  • Bachelors or better in Biomedical Sciences or related field.
Experience
  • 4 years: Supervisory experience
  • 7 years: Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
