The Production Manager, AIOA position exists to manage the day-to-day production for Adventures in Odyssey Animation. In all duties below, the Manager must work in collaboration with a variety of vendors, creative talent, project managers, department heads, and executives. The success of these partnerships will be a primary factor in the success of the animation series. In addition, this position is responsible to make sure that these relationships are maintained in a way that reflects the mission of Focus on the Family and the value of the individuals to the ministry. Also, this is a leadership role and must accept the responsibility of supporting and representing the directives of production leadership.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Works with producer, vendors, creative talent, project managers, department heads, and executives to meet overall production scheduling and requirements; help ensure schedule is updated as changes are made to the animation’s production flow and/or staffing plans
Holds vendors accountable to level of quality as determined and approved by AIOA leadership team
Understands how changes may affect the work week, scheduling, overall delivery, and overtime
Looks ahead to ensure weekly quotas, department milestones and expectations are met
Collaborates with leadership to ensure complexity of work is consistent with department budget and schedule and resolve changes, and overages
Collaborates with leadership to develop and manage department workflow processes and all related aspects including internal department schedules and staffing requirements
Creates a list of and tracks critical assumptions and highlight any risks
Creates and maintains reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist/vendor productivity
Collaborates with leadership to cast assignments and issue deadlines to artists
Performs regular check in with the production crew
Acts as the primary production person within the department; supervise and mentor any Production Assistants as needed
Partners with leadership to coach, mentor, and give performance feedback to all department members on progress. Drive the accountability, feedback process and delivery of feedback
Manages, motivates, and creates a healthy culture conducive to realizing quotas and artistic expressions and achievements toward set outcomes
Represents the department in weekly production meetings. Reports department progress and discusses solutions to issues impeding the department to a variety of audiences include C-Level executives
Ensures all project/production data is tracked via the production/project management database; Trouble-shoots wherever necessary to ensure timely deliverables
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., print, photography, voice work, film, music, visual arts, etc.) for distribution in any and all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, wireless, DVD, satellite and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which shall be for the benefit of Focus on the Family
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Office environment. Works with on-site and with remote teams.

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related areas and areas of animation and/or design, communication, business, or equivalent related experience in management and execution of animation production also acceptable
5-7 years of successful experience in a related field with direct experience and involvement in animation production
Working knowledge of or willingness to learn and acclimate to the FOF culture including its mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
Relevant subject matter expertise of and/or storyboard, animation, design, production, creative suites, UX/UI, game engines, 3D/2D modeling and animation, layouts, cinema, writing/editing, prototyping, and other related skills
Understands and embraces the layers of complexity associated with producing a high-quality animated product within parameters of scope, cost, time to achieve desired outcomes
Experience managing projects, estimating resources, timeframes, and planning, etc.
Proven ability to work with in-office and remote teams with tight deadlines and competing priorities for animation specific projects is required
PMP Certification a plus
Other relevant certification(s) related to animation and production a plus

Stewardship Requirements:
Budget(s) associated with the Adventures in Odyssey Animation Project
Salary Range: $70,716 to $81,117/yr.
