The Wind Energy Lead Technician is a critical and active role accountable for optimized operations, critical and creative thinking, and site safety & leadership. Working directly with the site manager/supervisor, overall scope includes executing daily site operations, turbine maintenance and output, as well as exemplify excellence in leadership, safety, and quality control.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Technician partners closely with the site leadership to execute on contract requirements and timelines and ensures alignment with GE operational excellence!
As the Wind Energy Lead Technician, you will:
Collaborate and oversee contractual obligations and activities, working closely with the site manager and various customers daily, to include any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in wind turbines.
Support and execute initiatives to drive results to meet the established KPI’s and site financial targets.
Be innovative and engaged in facility operations aligned with the site plan to include creative problem solving with LEAN thinking.
Troubleshoot complicated mechanical and electrical problems including; variable pitch systems, variable speed control systems, and components.
Perform all mechanical and electrical component maintenance, repair, and replacement of parts to correct any malfunctions.
Perform a variety of administrative duties as well as be responsible for EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) SQC, (Quality Control) and other relevant compliance areas.
Assist with Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting responsibilities and responsible for spare parts/tool inventory.
Provide ongoing training and development with current site technicians and new technicians.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of wind turbine experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant leadership experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and Willingness to;
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Handle repetitive weight – 50 lbs. and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs. including required gear
Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
Work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules, and on-call per site needs
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university
Additional Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and able to effectively work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm
Ability, willingness, and adaptability to take initiative and work without direct supervision
Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheet processing, e-mail programs, facility control and management systems, and computer diagnostic and troubleshooting tools
Wind facility operations experience and wind turbine experience
GE Employees Only-My learning High Voltage Tests such as: GEE-PROD-W025-WIND - 2.20 Substations and Transformers / GEE-PROD-W026-WIND - 2.21 Padmount Transformer Switching/ GEE-PROD-W027-WIND - 2.23 Substation & Interconnect Switching
Advanced electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience
Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
Comprehensive writing skills to meet contractual reporting obligations, as required

I have 3 years of experience maintaining and repairing wind turbines, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
Functioning as Wind Turbine Technicians, we are responsible for following the safety rules and regulations while performing the winding work. We stay involved in the site operations. We provide assistance in the management and preparation of wind turbine developmental plans. In the role of Wind Turbine Technician, we are accountable for inspecting the entire interior and exterior parts of the turbines to identify their proper functionality. We analyse the systems to identify the areas of improvement in them. We make reports based on the turbine data for conducting in-depth researches on them. We work individually and as a part of a team, whenever required.
