E. Virginia Williams established Boston Ballet in 1963, marked as the first professional ballet company in New England. It has a 53 years old history of excellence in dance. It teaches dance education. Boston Ballet’s headquarters are at 19 Clarendon Street in Boston’s South End. Boston Ballet is one of the largest arts institution which operates Boston Ballet school, where more than 3,000 students. The Boston Ballet center offer several educational and other activities for its community. Boston Ballet’s programs reach out almost 7,000 students every year. It has 500-1000 full-time and part-time staff. It provides following facilities: Children’s dance programs, Classic Ballet programs, Adult’s dance programs, Pre-professional Programs. It’s Department of Education and Community Initiatives (ECI) provides programming events that make connection of the community with dance. ECI reaches more than 4,000 individuals in Boston and North Shore through Citydance annually.
