The Society of Actuaries (SOA) organization was founded in 1949 as a merger of two major American actuarial associations. The corporate head office is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, the United States. The Chief Executive Officer is Greg Heidrich. SOA is one of the most recognized global professional actuaries in the United States, with more than 30,000 professional actuaries as active members who are involved in the life, health, pension, and general insurance areas. The International Actuarial Association has accepted the SOA as a full-member organization in America. It is operated and headed by a group of eighteen board members, with the president and president elected. SOA is an equivalent open-door business. It offers new career opportunities to individuals who are intrigued to join the association and gain knowledge and experience in the industry.
