My first couple years with the company were wonderful. People were friendly. I was regarded highly by both management and my fellow associates. However, in time, as I continued to devote myself things would begin to shift adversely. Admittedly, this may have been, at least in part, due to my willingness to overlook certain glaring flaws within the company. What can a person do? You WANT to support your company, you WANT to be a team player, but eventually no matter how much YOU want to help your employer eventually, regardless of the effort demonstrated, nothing comes your way. At that point you're left defeated. Now some may say, "Well, thems the breaks!". Typically I'd agree. I'd be right there with you. Jeering the slackard, the layabout, the unfit and self-anointed plebian. Please restrain your judgement. I worked as hard as someone possibly can for a company. Pulling 16 hour days before corporate walks.No matter wht I did.It was impossible to get rid of underperformers.(no space)

The reason why I’ve loved working at Home Depot was that the work environment was great the workers are very helpful with the customers

Worked here for a few years as my first official job while going through school. Asked to arrange hours to a certain range of availability, but was typically rarely the case. Moving up or being recognized seems unrealistic. The people who don’t do much seems to be the ones exceeding. I always strived to learn every department and every thing not related to my specific job I was hired as. Instead, I was just used as another associate to cover everyone else’s mess. Yet, it seems like a hard working associate is not something they are interested in.

They are very patient with training. Always friendly and flexible with school schedules. Explain procedures very well. They have incentives letting you know that you are doing a good job.

I came into work at home Depot from 05/2005 05/2009 as a customer service representative carpet claims specialist, unfortunately the higher end of home Depot called Expo Design Center shut down and went out of business.

I loved working at home depot , never a bording day . There is much to learn and plenty to do . The people you work with are kind and friendly. I was part time there and working a full time some where else .

Watch yourself when I’m working at these particular type of jobs a lot of times the employees don’t have a lot of skills so he don’t know how to work out their problems. Management is hard to deal with when it comes to social and cultural issues considering that Home Depot is a pro right wing company. Use this company as a platform to bone up on skills. Other than that don’t stay long.

Working with Home Depot distribution center is a career to desire, great benefits, atmosphere is right to work in & the workers inc management are dynamic . Working there o feel a sense of belonging..

Great environment, lots of different people and opinions. Management was very cool, got a long with everyone. Never had a problem with anyone doing my employment with Home Depot.

A fair employer. I was a seasonal employee primarily assigned to garden. I've enjoyed gardening since I was a kid and Home Depot was supportive of my interest.

I had a wonderful awsome time working for home depot. With Great pay and benefits . I worked in customer service answering phone calls. And the managers there where easy going and fun to be around.

Great coworkers and good management and wonder rapport with everyone. Perks are decent at best. Steady working conditions

In June of this year, I semi-retired to The Villages, FL to enjoy the warm weather. I decided to go to pick up a part time job at Home Depot selling appliances to work on my customer interfacing and building on selling techniques.

It was a bad experience cause they was talking behind my back, speaking bad of me, they treated me wrong cause of my skin color

Bad scheduling, bad communication, bad bad bad ! The hours i had to work with were bad, for part time workers, they have you come in at 5:30 in the morning for 4 hours.

I started at Home Depot in May 1998. After four years, I was promoted to assistant store manager. I was an assistant store manager for 19 years. Although I love the company, there is absolutely no work life balance.

I have a learning disability, and was made to work in flooring. I couldnt handle the computer part of the job, and asked to be transferred for 5 mos. They kept promosing me something different. The final straw ,was when the manager down played my disability
