The company has opportunity for growth but at times like any other places, favoritism comes in the pictures.

When I first started at Home Depot is was really rough. My boss at the time didn’t work with me, but against me. Then when she left and I got a new boss he have me opportunities that I never had with my original boss. Everything from there started looking up for me. I really enjoyed my time at Home Depot. I would love to work there again. But in Watertown NY.

This is a perfect place to rot away if you plan on driving down a dead end. Not only do they not live up to their values, but they voilate employees safety. You could work here for 10 years and new employees would start at the same wages as you. They also have mass corruption starting at the top. That ended with them firing +200 salaried managers all at the same time.

The management team is very barely regulated by corporate. Recently the management team was replaced at this location, and the store itself is going downhill quickly. Everyone wants to quit, the only ones who are being rewarded are the people who are not doing their jobs, and the customers have learned that if they threaten associates they get whatever they want for free.

My story is only one of many. Ask others that were mislead. I won't ever give HD my business in my retirement.

20 year tenure bonus taken away from you when get promoted to a salary position with no notification of this at all. 5 week vacation earned along with tenured bonus now has to be accrued every month to take this vacation? No fair at all. Dead end job with no advancement at all. RVPs and DM earn a high salary while the store suffers with lack of customer service and no help.

I needed to change my schedule to a set schedule for family reasons and they would not so I had to let them go.

Management has favoritism they never recognized an employee always working hard, and good attendance. Pay rate not fair for new employees paid higher whereas employees working many years same job was paid lower.

Not giving raise for 2yrs even my good attendance and new hire employee same job was paid higher rate also never been recognized Cashier of the month .

I was able to pick up trash and discharge debris from my station and the parking lot I was able to organize customers orders and help them find the product they were willing to purchase

I needed my schedule changed because not only did I had another job, but I was starting school, and they would not give me a set schedule.

I liked it because they let you form your own way of selling. I was quite successful at it. I was the top part time producer in the dept. and it was fun to do.

I would work 5-9 pm one day and 7-10 am the next day. Nobody buys appliances at 7 am. Never stuck to a regular schedule as promised.

Fun & productive workplace with supportive colleagues. Everyone is there to help and direct you to the right direction. Good place to work only thing you have to have comfortable shoes for all day standing.

Homedepot is a really great company when it comes to professional growth. I started as a cashier, worked most of the departments except three and I bet I know a little from the three as well. If I had started I might become an assistant or even a manager

I work at Home Depot for Home Depot Installation Services which involves setting appointments for free consultation with a Home Depot Design Consultant for our offered services (cabinet makeover, countertops, windows, exterior doors, home organization, etc). I work part time with a nice schedule that is perfect for me - love this gig.

Been with exterior sales as a consultant and a manager for 20 years. Sales always hit the numbers. The install team has always been the downfall. They had to shut down roofing, siding and gutters due to the performance of the install team a few years ago and years later the exact same issue.

A hostile workplace once new management came in. My department was allowed to strip me of my duties then claimed I did nothing.

Not enjoyable, good co workers. Never any overtime and always shorthanded. But they did pay every other Friday.

Home Depot was a great place to work. It was very unfortunate they could not look past my criminal record from 1991. They fired me because of it.

My first couple years with the company were wonderful. People were friendly. I was regarded highly by both management and my fellow associates. However, in time, as I continued to devote myself things would begin to shift adversely. Admittedly, this may have been, at least in part, due to my willingness to overlook certain glaring flaws within the company. What can a person do? You WANT to support your company, you WANT to be a team player, but eventually no matter how much YOU want to help your employer eventually, regardless of the effort demonstrated, nothing comes your way. At that point you're left defeated. Now some may say, "Well, thems the breaks!". Typically I'd agree. I'd be right there with you. Jeering the slackard, the layabout, the unfit and self-anointed plebian. Please restrain your judgement. I worked as hard as someone possibly can for a company. Pulling 16 hour days before corporate walks.No matter wht I did.It was impossible to get rid of underperformers.(no space)

Worked here for a few years as my first official job while going through school. Asked to arrange hours to a certain range of availability, but was typically rarely the case. Moving up or being recognized seems unrealistic. The people who don’t do much seems to be the ones exceeding. I always strived to learn every department and every thing not related to my specific job I was hired as. Instead, I was just used as another associate to cover everyone else’s mess. Yet, it seems like a hard working associate is not something they are interested in.

They are very patient with training. Always friendly and flexible with school schedules. Explain procedures very well. They have incentives letting you know that you are doing a good job.

I came into work at home Depot from 05/2005 05/2009 as a customer service representative carpet claims specialist, unfortunately the higher end of home Depot called Expo Design Center shut down and went out of business.

I loved working at home depot , never a bording day . There is much to learn and plenty to do . The people you work with are kind and friendly. I was part time there and working a full time some where else .

Watch yourself when I’m working at these particular type of jobs a lot of times the employees don’t have a lot of skills so he don’t know how to work out their problems. Management is hard to deal with when it comes to social and cultural issues considering that Home Depot is a pro right wing company. Use this company as a platform to bone up on skills. Other than that don’t stay long.

In June of this year, I semi-retired to The Villages, FL to enjoy the warm weather. I decided to go to pick up a part time job at Home Depot selling appliances to work on my customer interfacing and building on selling techniques.

Bad scheduling, bad communication, bad bad bad ! The hours i had to work with were bad, for part time workers, they have you come in at 5:30 in the morning for 4 hours.

I started at Home Depot in May 1998. After four years, I was promoted to assistant store manager. I was an assistant store manager for 19 years. Although I love the company, there is absolutely no work life balance.

I have a learning disability, and was made to work in flooring. I couldnt handle the computer part of the job, and asked to be transferred for 5 mos. They kept promosing me something different. The final straw ,was when the manager down played my disability
