About Central Office Technician

What does a Central Office Technician do?

As central office technicians, we perform installations, maintenance and repairs of the central office equipment and tools. We execute preventive maintenance and activate and deactivate office equipment. We also perform installations and repairs on tools and office equipment to ensure their safety. We are responsible for performing installation, testing and labelling of cable lines. We as central office technicians identify and troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner. The responsibility of maintaining documentation for all installations, maintenance, inspections and repairs lie with central office technicians. We are tasked with removing unused and non-functional equipment and tools from working areas. We also assemble equipment frames and cable racks as well as check cable holes.

  • installing, maintaining and repairing central office tools
  • executing preventive maintenance
  • activating and deactivating
  • testing and labelling cable lines
  • identifying and troubleshooting equipment
