Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority is an airport authority established with the consent of the US Congress to oversee capital development, operations, and management of two airports serving the United States national capital: Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The authority was created in 1987, and its headquarter is based in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia, United States. Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority provides ground crew, airport security, safety management, and air traffic control. The authority's operating costs are paid through rents for the use of terminals, aircraft landing fees, and other facilities and revenues from parking and concessions. The company employs more than 1700 employees in a structure that includes airport management, police & fire departments, and central administration.
