The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) was built with the focus and mission of protecting the US National Park System for present and future generations. It is a nonpartisan and independent association headquartered in Washington, D.C, the United States, with 27 programmatic locations and 11 regions nationwide. The founder of NPCA is Stephen Mather, and the association was established in 1919 as National Parks Association. NPCA consists of 1.4 million members, volunteers, policy experts, staff lobbyists, community organizers, and communications specialists who are thoroughly supporting, contributing, and working together to protect and preserve the nation's most iconic and inspirational parks and places.
