About Family Advocate

What does a Family Advocate do?

As Family Advocates, we help families by protecting the best interest of the child whenever there is a dispute among parents regarding parental rights and responsibilities. We examine the situation at the family by listening to both sides then make recommendations to the court regarding contact, care, and guardianship. We monitor the agreement that will be reached and ensure that it is in the best interest of the child. We provide the parents with legal information on their responsibilities and rights.

Core tasks:

  • resolve parents disputes on responsibilities of the child
  • serve to ensure that in any resolutions met, the best interest of the child is achieved
  • provide the courts with reports regarding the parents and provide recommendations on how the parents can care for the child
  • documenting the resolutions met on both parents
