What does a Quality Systems Manager do?

As quality systems managers, we develop quality strategy and policies in our organization. We are responsible for implementing standard operating procedures by which products are designed, verified, and validated. We work cross-functionally with various teams such as product development, production, and continuous improvement. We also ensure that policies and procedures conform to applicable standards and regulations.

Core tasks:

  • managing quality system processes (change control, document control, assessments, etc.)
  • developing and maintaining standard operating procedures
  • ensuring compliance with applicable standards
  • developing appropriate metrics
  • overseeing qualification and validation activities
  • driving continuous improvement initiatives
