With the company over 20 years, seems we lost our values towards the end of my job! Great company, learned alot, made alot of money for yhe company!

Everyone at the store I worked at quit after a year, including me. Only the top seller got a raise, and that was insulting and laughable. He even quit!

I work with This company for 6yrs But They don't care about Their Employees Well Being I get written up for leaving work Early Due to 😷 Being sick 🙃 on the Job And This particular manager By the Name Duckie is the most sneakiest manager ever He Talks about Everybody and Everything in the DC,He Talks about his fellow management Teammates to Employees Talks about Teammates to Their fellow Teammates THIS FLOWER MOUND DC is worst 😫 It was fun working here under Linton Augustines Management until he Moved to his promotion post ...That's when Everything starts Going South

The locations I worked were perpetually understaffed and upper management doesn't want to hire more people, they want the few employees they have to dedicate their lives to the company. The GMs do their best to allocate hours to employees, but they themselves are usually burnt out from working 50+ hours a week while District Managers drive around all the time in meetings. Daily, it's a constant struggle to maintain the balance between trying to hit budget and having to forcibly offer a range of items "to the complete the job" as management says. If you're looking for a first time job, a way to get discounted car parts or something to do after retirement then Advance is a great place. If you're looking to actually get enjoyment out of the work you do, you're better off anywhere else.

I worked here for seven years and was pushed into doing a job which hurt my disabled arm. It caused me to have chronic pain which I complained about , but they didn’t care. I eventually was fired for absences related to this even though I had doctors excuses. I found that management really did not have its worker’s interests in mind.

Great place for anyone to work for. I was promoted from assistant to manager in less than a year. I will always recommend people to them. I am still shopping for parts

Little to no training or support from store or district managers. I received more help and training from the Commercial Parts Professional and HUB manager than I ever did from my store or district manager. Did not practice values of equality and fairness. Was required to work against doctor's orders and did not receive bonus pay while working at the store the entire bonus period.

I enjoyed assisting with all they're automotive needs. Would enjoy doing this for others regardless of the challenge.

Been with them for over 20 years and barely got over 12 dollars an hour. They don't recognize you unless you kill yourself working the job of 3-4 people. Even then you can count on them telling you that they can't give you a living wage

boring job , computers freeze up not very efficient computers make everyday frustrating because they are so outdated

Good people on a personal level but some hard to work with. Too many brown nosers. Too much favoritism

Large organization with ability to learn auto parts retail and distribution functions. Somewhat old school in their thinking and operations processes but getting better.

I started at Advance Auto Parts after long period of work at AutoZone. In every aspect of work it was a step forward.

I worked here as a fill-in job, after working in several office environments. Working in a Law Firm and for an Insurance group were much more upbeat than with this company. The level of appreciation for staff is very low here for the most part.

I have been able to work with 15 plus stores helping them send and receive the parts they need on a daily basis. I help the other associates in my store pull orders and put away new stock. I adjust stock quantities as needed. I also reset shelf tags and/or arrange stock as needed.

I WAS THERE FOR A TOATL OF 6 YEARS HAD FUN. NICE PEOPLE, GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR, GOOD HOURS. NICE AREA, MANY LOCTIONS.

A nice place to work as a disabled person. I was given extra time to complete tasks and not asked to over work because of my physical limitations

I was a senior in high school who could not tell you the first step in changing a tire. By the end of my 18 month spell at AAP I was changing my own oil and performing tune ups for some side money. I learned so much from the people there and improved my sales skills (which is the main aspect of the job). Whether you know about cars or not is irrelevant; there is enough training on the computer to keep you busy as well as enough customer/co worker knowledge to pick up on.

Worked hard only to be told that I only mangers. Exempt employees could be full time. Worked 2 stores. To get hours. Was only given 12-10pm shifts. I quit.

Was there for could not wait to leave. Field management rich people in the store like their second class citizens. Field leadership 0 retail experience they are all old mechanics which is fine but have no idea how to run a business.

Fired full time and replaced with part time with no knowledge new practices no more to add. !??????????

I was a commercial Parts Pro there for 15 years his exciting fun we had some good times there met a lot of people over the years Rhonda commercial count business sold a lot of parts in retail especially in commercial

Could not build commercial so they bought Carquest. Substituted crappy Adv parts for a Carquest sticker. Tried to buy Interstate battery, now own the Diehard name. Never willing to work a program to make it better, throw cash at it and let the sheeple follow.

I enjoyed the customer’s the most. 85% of the staff were pretty good to work with and the benefits were not bad. But this is a position where if you are a single / divorced parent, you better have a STRONG support system. I was not aware going into the position that they had full intentions of filling a closing shift. They were not forthcoming with hours nor rate of pay which were brought up by myself several occasions. When I put in my notice, the area mgr did not even call, email or stop by to talk about what they could have done to keep me on. I had a large customer base because I grew up in this town and pretty much knew everyone.

If you like being just another number, then this is the job for you. Be prepared to give up 2 days off in a row, any semblance of a normal schedule and any form of rhyme or reason from upper management.

Enjoyed the people I worked with but not upper management always felt like I was micro managed all the time.
